I am a German born and trained Master Pastry Chef, working in the "sweet industry" over thirty years in Germany, Switzerland, Australia, and now in Canada.
I moved to Canada in 1983 and worked for 6 years at "Traeger's Tearoom," in Saskatoon. In 1989 I founded "The Tortenhaus," a tearoom and pastry shop in Saskatoon. I sold the business in 2001. Since 2002 I work out of my country home in Wakaw, doing what I like to do, wedding cakes.
I also started, together with my husband David, a photographer, the "Venne Hillview Bed & Breakfast and Cabin Rental." This and being a mother of two young daughters keeps me busy.
My true passion is wedding cakes. My heart and soul are in every cake I create.
